To whom does Pura Vida Missions minister?
Pura Vida Missions will minister to children, youth, and adults located in Costa Rica through short-term missionaries (youth and adults) from the United States.
What kind of ministry does Pura Vida Missions do?
Pura Vida Missions leads Campamento de Ninos (our version of Vacation Bible School) in several locations around Guanacaste and San Ramon including a local orphanage.
We also do home repair construction work. You can choose from 3 levels of construction - beginner, intermediate and expert.
We provide basic necessities such as clothing and food to those in need.

Do I need to know Spanish to do missions in Costa Rica?
While a little bit of Spanish is helpful it is not necessary to be fluent in Spanish. We provide translators that will assist you in sharing the gospel during your mission trip.
Can I drink the water?
It is always wise to drink bottled water whenever you travel to a different country. However, the water in Costa Rica is safe to drink.
Do I need to get shots?
There is typically no need to get shots or vaccines to travel to Costa Rica. However, please consult your physician before traveling to Costa Rica or any foreign country.

Where does Pura Vida Missions do missions work?
Pura Vida conducts ministry primarily, but not limited to San Ramon, Costa Rica. San Ramon is located approximately one hour from the capital city of San Jose.
In 2008, we began ministering in Guanacaste, CR combining our passion for surfing and serving God.
How many missionaries can Pura Vida Missions accomodate?
We can comfortably accommodate 60 people in our bunk house.
Will there be other groups there with my group?
Unless you book all 58 spots for a week, it's probable that there will be other mission teams at the mission. You will work with your own group but you will get the opportunity to interact with the other teams during meal times, fun times and nightly worship times. Regardless of your group size you will need to divide your group into teams of no more than 10.
Do I need to provide the VBS materials?
No, we will provide you with all vacation Bible school curriculum that you need in order to prepare for your trip. We will also provide you with training materials that will help you prepare your team serve the Lord with all your heart. We do ask that you bring with you all craft supplies needed for the VBS lessons you will be teaching to the children.
What can we do for fun in Costa Rica?
In a country the size of West Virginia, Costa Rica offers an enormously wide variety of adventure and site seeing for your mission team. Within a short drive from our mission you can experience: the beach, an active volcano, hot springs, jungle canopy tours, white water rafting, surfing, shopping, and more.
